You get the feeling something weird is happening in this transition. If you try to play along with the album (e.g. on guitar) you will dicover that the first bit of "Ommadawn" isn't exactly in g minor and f sharp minor. It's hard to say whether this was planned or was the result of chance when tuning the instruments. Regardless of the reason, Oldfield managed making an exciting transition.
